His web career started whilst working at A&M Records on artists including Sheryl Crow, Dodgy and The Carpenters. In 1996, he was assigned to Polygram's Internet Task Force, to help the music group understand the impact digital might have on the industry. Unfortunately, much fell on deaf ears.
After leaving A&M, he joined Freud Communications to help set up Traffic Interactive, one of the UK's first digital agencies, before moving to HOB.com in Los Angeles. He worked on liveconcerts.com with Real Networks before setting up his own business.
Stuart founded Devstars in 2003 and takes a key role in managing clients and projects with long time collaborator Miles Gripton.
In the early days, we were very music business-focussed building sites for Coldplay, MTV European Music Awards, Beta Band, online promotions for Radiohead and official message boards for Kylie, Paul McCartney and Queen (to name a few).
Over the years, our markets have widened developing systems for Heathrow Airport to manage queue timing and data capture, high volume e-commerce sites, along stylish design lead sites in the luxury and lifestyle sector.
A snapshot of clients includes Nokia, Timberland, Islabikes, Cutler & Gross, Molton Brown, The Royal Academy of Music and SlimFast.
Stuart has recently set up a new digital agency LWDA specialising in design lead sites for SME's and start-ups. With the core Devstars team focussing on long term development projects, LWDA will provide a full-service offering that offers a design lead approach using off the shelf platforms such as WordPress, Woocomerce and Shopify.
