Loving If This Then That
We’ve been having lots of fun today testing out a new web automation service called If This Then That.
At the time of writing, IFTTT.com (If This Then That) is still in Beta and allows you to create triggers and actions across a range of web services.
For example, we set a trigger to email the team to go and get ice creams when the temp got higher than 20 degrees.
You can also configure a blog to post directly to Facebook if the title contains a particular tag, or create a post on Twitter if stocks go above a certain level.
The system already includes 30 channels which allow you to configure a range of actions and rules across Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Gmail, Stocks, Weather and WordPress.
It’s early days, but IFTTT is showing great potential for businesses who are looking to streamline their workflows by connecting the various web services that they use in their day-to-day workflow.
