About Us
We are a digital consultancy with an impressive track record. Established in 2003, Devstars is a leading digital agency specialising in bespoke website, application development and fronteir technologies.
We serve a select group of clients ranging from SMBs, start-ups to government organisations and FMCGs.
Our History
1995: While working for A&M Records, Founder Stuart Watkins promotes the web and is appointed to a Polygram (now Universal Music) Internet Task Force.
1996: Stuart leaves to help setup one of the first web agencies Traffic Interactive with Freud Communications. He works on projects for Supergrass, Phoenix Festival and Pepsi
1997: Stuart gets moved out to Los Angeles with Freud partner Hob.com working closeley with Real Networks he creates award winning web campaigns for Radiohead and organises web Q&As with the likes of Paul Simonon (The Clash)
1998: While still in LA Stuart becomes a partner of Creative Agency ArtScience. Miles Gription joins Artscience. We worked with Damian Hirst on his Vinderloo project.
1999: Website for the Mercury Music Prize and The Offical UK Charts
Our History
2000: Another Mercury Music Prize and our first MTV European Music Awards Website.
2001: More work for Mercury, another MTV EMA along with continued work for the UK Charts.
2002: Paul McCartney Message Forum was built and manged by us for 10 years. We also built Forums for Queen, Ducati and many others in the days before Social Media.
2003-4: Devstars was formed working with Gotham Notting Hill (we are still working with them 20+ years later). Slug & Lettuce, Website with Flash games and HTML newsletters for 50 venues across the UK.
2005-6: Bespoke E-commerce sites for Love KitchenAid. We shared offices with student marketing specialist Making Waves. Event site for Sony PS3 Rooms for the launch of the new console.
2007-2009: Partnered pioneering experiential agency Cunning providing digital support. Created the Global Inteligence System for G4S a subscription based online knowledge portal, providing geopolitical intelligence on current threats and hazards worldwide.
Our History
2010-13: Timberland, websites for Germany, France and Netherlands while new global site was being built. Flash was dying and we were commisioned by Radiohead to use Javascript and CSS top create an animated home page designed by their artist Stanley Donwood.
During this phase we developed the Heathrow Ambassador Program and Immigration Queue timing system.
2014-16: Stylish bespoke e-commerce website for Cutler & Gross and innovative promotions site for Plum Baby.
2017-19: WordPress sites for Adventurebar, Mystery Design Agency, and Taylor Wimpey.
